Does anyone know why there is a tiny Pentagon on the barrel of my Glock? There's the serial number, a Glock logo and then a little pentagon, I've never noticed it until today... Just thought it was kind of odd.

From what i've heard... (Don't know if it's true, it's only a hint for you)

The polygon could only signifies that the barrel has polygonal rifling.

Normal Rifling on the left, Polygonal Rifling on the right...

Polygonal rifling have a few advantages:

* Less bullet deformation, resulting in reduced drag on the bullet which helps to increase range, accuracy, and velocity
* Increased barrel life and reduced buildup of copper or lead within the barrel

Here's an example on what you find on your barrel:

Really?? Then why does Glock void warranties for shooting lead??

Maybe on normal rifling barrels...
But on Polygonal barrels, there's no problems! :p

Ummmmm, no? As far as I know Glock will void warranty on pistols that have fired non-jacketed. In addition, I don't think Glock has any standard rifling barrels, they've always been Polygonal rifled if I am not mistaken. Someone please tell me I am wrong. I've been keeping lead shoots to a minimum for this reason alone...well, and I've heard from some that lead out of a Glock is just bad news (Polygonal leads more quickly)

As far as I know Glock has produced both types of barrels, pretty sure most if not all in North America are polygonal though. I believe the polygon on the barrel indicates just that - a polygonal barrel (as has been previously suggested a few posts back)

You have found the missing secret glock from the the inner circle...wait right where you are..

black helicopters have been alerted and on route

I think you may have missed the " :p " in the post you were quoting
