Pentagon Says Design Fixes Improve Reliability in New Army Service Pistol

They could have saved themselves a lot of grief by choosing Glock.

He might have been trying sh*t position/holding, to try and make it jam...

Still don't understand their choice, but it for sure is a multi factor thing.

Its a way better pistol. And, dare I say it, the caliber & frame modularity was just a phony requirement included that kept the Glock from triumphantly winning. Somebody on the RFP team disliked Glocks. The Army has no intention of buying extra frames, slides and different caliber barrels & magazines to quick change.

Think I’m wrong? John C. Garand’s M1 main battle rifle was approved in a totally different caliber than the 30-06. General Douglas MacArthur quashed the new caliber because the Army had vast stockpiles of 30-06 ammo that would go unused.

Was he in the US Army when the Garand was developed? I thought he was commander of the Philipines Army.
