it has three modes.

1) 4x20 binocular
2) two 4x20 monoculars
3) stacked in parallel, one 16x20 monocular

these won't have much use in hunting, due to the low light gathering power, but due to their low weight, definitely handy for your day bag.

and while their minimum focal distance isn't as good as their Papilio pocket microscopes...5ft ain't bad!

I don't agree with your wording in point 3). To me that is stacked in series, not parallel.

Good of them to try something new... but... it looks like an answer to a question noboby asked...

Wonder how repeatable the collimation is on these things?

Rather have a good pair of binoculars that also took hi-res pics.
I know they make them, talking about a high quality pair that won't break the bank either.
