Hey all,

I am thinking about buying a percussion cap pistol just to put on my shelf as a decoration (I have armours and other trinkets and It will be a nice addition) but will also like to shoot it once and a while. As it is a restricted firearm is removing the percussion cap nipples from the cylinder good enough for safe storage, or am I better off just buying a non-working replica?

Being that it is a restricted handgun it would have to be stored trigger locked, locked away. How would you explain it, if one of your buddies walked off with it as a joke. Get what you want , store it right, shoot it , clean it, have fun. Display a plastic model or one of those pot metal display pieces. Saw one the other day in a second hand store.
