CK.....it seems to me you are trying to talk yourself into a short-barrelled shotgun so why not just get one.

I think you are asking way too much of one gun.

Sometimes you just can't have it all from one gun.

I picked up a mod 37 in 20 guage with 26 inch imp cly barrel and I think it might just be too light!

But it carries well.

Too light to absorb recoil ,it will kick like a gas 12 guage.

Not too much to handle or like ,just it is very light!

I have a Rem Sportsman that is about nine lbs and is hard to carry and easy to shoot(guess you can't have it all)I think the Rem Mod 58 is absolute cats meow!

Just to chime in, I like my 20 gauge o/u with 26" barrels.

That sounds like an almost IDEAL upland gun. Don't worry about the kick while hunting; worry about weight on an upland gun. And you'll only need 7/8 oz. loads in that 20 anyway.
