This is not my invention, it is now being included on all of the czech produced rifles being imported to the united states. It does however completely eliminate the inherent problem that causes gremlin.

The bolt carrier has a small tab welded on left side underneath.



This is brilliant most semi auto designs do not have this and can have problems with striker following due to an inherent design flaw with auto sear missing. The problem is caused by disconnector timing. On rearward travel carrier hits disconnector and disconnects trigger from sear then continues rearward. After it disconnects the striker rides over sear and can cause a re-connect as carrier is no longer pushing disconnector down. The carrier will disconnect trigger again on the way forward but not until the striker has already crossed sear. This can cause the sear to remain released as carrier continues forward and the striker will follow. This problem is non existent on f/a versions as the autosear will prevent striker from following until bolt is closed and the carrier will disconnect semi auto sear again on way forward. The Czech produced rifles being imported to United States have addressed this problem with their welded tab. The tab keeps disconnector down through rearward travel preventing the possibility of a reconnect.

I will measure tab and release plans here for these it is a permanent fix that can be done by anyone with halfway decent welding/fabrication skills.

Maybe they stopped exporting optics from the U.S. cause Canadians and Americans eyes work differently and we kept shipping everything back?;););)

since about september last year they have been used in the states no reports of any failures. I cant wrap my head around a way it is not just a flawless solution all it does is keep disconnector down until the striker has crossed sear. It actually eliminates completely the inherent problem rather than just a band aid.

hey C, i like to make a minor correction to your statement . i tried to imagine my carrier with the tab and it appears that the tab does not keep the disconnector down throughout the rearward action , all it does is keeps the disconnector down longer, perhaps long enuff to solve the problem .

Just a though and it maybe a stupid question. Would it be possible or has any one use devcon or a similar product to "weld" this tab in? Considering all the parts are cleaned and mated properly.

If it works this maybe easier for the DIY guys then taking it to a welder who may f-up the part.

not asking would be stupid. :)

now tell me more about this devcon product and where do one buy it . this may be a good way to experiment whether this tab works or not and if it does then for longer term move to brazing .

Devcon could be purchased at some industrial supplies stores. I've use marinetex and there are other products out there that are basically cold welds. So it's pretty much permanent I would imagine.
 
I imagine jb weld or one of many other adhesives would work as well but welding is just bettter. This is also a very easy weld the steel is good quality clean and thick.
 
so does anyone know what the weld procedure would be including what type of rod and preheats/cooling. Or else where a guy could send his gun away to have this modification done to it???
