Here is one of my permanent blinds
I can hunt dawn to dusk in cold Ontario weather and be very comfy

Looks good! I was planning on building a new one on my land this summer but house renovations are killing my time and budget quickly lol. Hopefully next year I’ll get to it.

For the guys building permanent blinds like this do you think it has an impact on the deer, either positively or negatively?

8X8 is pretty darn big, any of y'all sleeping in em, or even spending multiple days out there?

Is the blind useful to you outside of big game season?

might attempt a few over nighters this year if i get back into hunting...tons of game on the cams...Bear/Deer/turkeys

I think the game gets used to them and quickly begins to ignore it as not posing a threat.

leave the odd sweaty old tee shirt there....does not not seem to hinder the critters from coming around

They dont harm deer movement.

If anything, The deer will stand there looking at it before coming for a closer look

Well I do have an in door urinal (LOL)
2" pipe with a 4" covered opening
Runs into a pail in the ground

I've hunted from permanent ground blinds that were similar to an outhouse, ones that were made from stacked square bales, and real nice ones with windows on all 4 sides. Had great luck with them.

Just got tired of freezing
Now i don't have to dress like i am going ice fishing
No impact on deer
I have pics of deer eating grass in front of the hunt camp so no worries about the blind

Used to come across permanent tree stands in the deep wood, roofless and not as nice as those here ( built from logs, no financial investment, just the labour), and you could tell you were getting close to one of them by the smell of doe urine alone. I guess some guy was dumping the stuff by the bottle thinking he was keeping the big bucks coming in but it seemed to me they would just disregard any such scent coming from within a klick of there.
