Sherwood Park Fish and Game is run by Fudds and they prohibit humanoid targets, as has been mentioned. Just a dumb range rule. I'm a member there because it's 15 minutes from my house. At the big bore range I can't even fit my AR or Stevens 305f in the rifle racks because they're too short. Kind of annoying.

And the first question I get with any short barrelled guns is, "Is that gun legal?" Of course it's legal! Do you really think anyone bring an illegal firearm to a range, especially one that gets used by the local RCMP detachment?
Sounds like a hostile takeover in regards to management is in order.

Well, I have a phone interview in an hour for a job in Taber. I hear they have a nice range

Edit: just bought 200 9 inch paper plates cause I can feel it coming at my range. I also have 2 inch yellow sticky dots so i'll be good for a while

It is about 5 minutes north of Taber if my memory serves. We held 2 matches out there and it is an awesome facility (600M , 200M, and a bunch of action bays).
No silly target rules that I am away of. Also the membership fee is very reasonable so if you can only make if a handful of times it is not that bad.
Sad state of affairs that this is even a topic of discussion....
As mentioned there are no LAWS...yet...concerning target profiles....just politically correct cave ins to the appearances...clubs/ranges and shooting governing bodies get to call their own shots in this regard...and it remains ones choice whether to patronize them or not.
And if you think this is silly ....
Local school boards around here have recently banned the term "best friend" and are actively censoring the terminology/use/utterance of the term....yup...not kiddin.
Citing European practices of same which allegedly curtail bullying and other social stigmas.....
It will go right up there with participation ribbons, not keeping score and maintaining the idea that blind pacifism will guide you safely thru the world.
It won't be locusts, plagues, hurricanes or zombies.....we will literally perish at our own hands when we have sufficiently dulled ourselves
Oh and I shoot pizza boxes....just the right size ... and FREE....I am guilty at some creative license with a sharpy on occasion tho

I can go downtown and see some zombie like people. So discriminating. I have never asked the RSO about human like targets but would suspect they would not want to see any human like figure downrange during a busy day after a target change or during live fire. I have been to indoor ranges that allow it though with automatic target retrieval.
Interesting, I have a bunch of the 'button shirt' targets in a bunch of stuff from my grandfathers house my uncle gave me. I had never seen them before.
