Personal Pistol Question?

Thanks for the insight fellows. After extensive reading I believe I have found what I am aiming for: a 1911 platform in 9mm, with the smallest frame possible. A Commander in 9mm, or a officer frame and commander slide and barrel would be ideal. I respect the .45 and if the above is is to be found in that clambering then that is all and well. Who carries what I am looking for or if you have one for under 500 then message me if you wish. Who knows? :)

Before you buy the 1911 and I would buy a full sized one do yourself a favour and pick up a CZ 75 or an 85 . I have found the grip to be almost perfect. and they are accurate and reliable. if you can check out the 85.

Just off the top of my head;
SAM 1911 Commander
CZ75B
Sig P229
Browning High Power (S&J had milsurp in stock)

And if you're willing to look at polymer frame;
HK P2000
S&W M&P9

This is the exact list i was going to suggest. My wife has tiny hands and these are all the pistols we’ve researched that she would shoot. Also, i would like to mention that the new M&P 2.0 has great ergo for small hands... its replacing the M&P9.

You also mentioned that you dont have easy access to a gun shop. In my personal experience, i now avoid surplus and go with a pistol that you can get easy access to parts and accessories.

With all that said, imo, a SIG P226 with the E2 grips would suit you fine. Ive seen 13yr old kids shoot it just fine with that setup. And the only reason im suggesting that over the P229 is that there’s a bit more availability of parts and accessories for the P226.

Its all metal. Fits nice. TONS of parts available here on CGN EE section. And with an E2 Grip it fits snug on small hands like a P229. Its also an accurate gun.

The great part is that you can get exchange kits that swap out the barrel and mags and you can shoot 22LR instead of 9mm o your same pistol. Remember that its not the gun that’s expensive... its feeding it.

Just my opinion. Everyone’s experience with pistols vary.

Well it's a toss up between the SAM 1911 CMDR and the Sig 226. Where could I find online, these firearms for a good price, or do one of you have one for sale ;)

I Recomend a CZ 85b a good solid metal gun thats incredibly accurate and reliable was able to accuratly hit a small metal target at 50m. And if you run out of bullets you can always beat the enemy to the ground with it hahaha

Slavex can confirm or correct this but it is my understanding the CZ 85 Combat and 85B Combat are not going to be produced anymore. The 85 Combat without a FPB will have a much nicer trigger than the 85B without work being done to it. Both new benefit from a 13# mainspring installation. Good used as well as new copies will likely be available for a very long time. They are excellent variants.

Take Care

This is asking what you like in ladies and trucks, everyone has a answer.
I would find a range some where and see if you can shoot a few, pay a bit for ammo, or go to big city and check out what feels good at a shop.
I like 9 mm 1911, 45 is nice , but 9 is cheaper to shoot.
I just got a steel Jericho 941s, similar to CZ 75, less money, and that is a nice gun, from the test fire I did with it seems to shoot real nice.
If you have small hands stay away from Beretta92's big grips.
Single stack 1911, sig P220 9mm (old model)

Suggesting you get a Tokarev is NOT good advice - the vertical grip angle is terrible.

Given that you like older metal guns, I'd suggest the Makarov, preferably in the original 9X18 caliber. Excellent guns.
