Perst-4

I’ve been trying to talk myself into a Perst-3 for literally years now. Just not comfortable breaking that $1300 mark on something that might do what I want and might not!

Most of the reviews out there are good, but not very thorough.

Finally realized: I have multiple guns, I can have multiple lasers. I bought a perst-4 for $600 shipped. If the lower power settings are as fine a dot as I’m hunting for, and unit feels properly made, maybe I’ll add a perst-3 later. I’m really torn on the regularity of need for an illuminator.

The unit does seem very solid. Unfortunately I haven't had the opportunity to even mount mine yet. Because it has a proprietary plug for the switch, it's tough to decide how to actually mount it. It would be nice if duel switches were compatible with this unit. I'd rather not get rid of the pressure pad for my surefires but I might not have a choice. 2 seperate pressure pads is kind of goofy.

But once I actually get around to mourning it, I'm sure it will hold up. Russian military uses perst product. This ain't no crappy unit. It's solid no doubt. Looking forward to eventually using it. Lol

Surely it wouldn't be hard to to change the switch plug out onto a more desirable switch for you application? My light is set up for thumb use so it doesn't bother me.

The perst series use proprietary plugs/ switches that are not compatible with the crane switches used by insight, Steiner, Holosun etc. The switch you get is the switch it is. So I’m either gonna be running 2 pressure switches on my rig (the perst switch is awesome buts long) or I’m gonna have to ditch the switch on either my surefire or the perst. In the end I’ll prob not use the perst switch as the device itself still has an activation button on the back which should be easy enough to use

For anyone wondering how long it takes a PERST-4 to ship from Russia...

Purchased March 20th, picked up last night.

I'll try to get some images together today, but initial impression: I'm glad I bought it.

Ordered one at around the same time, Tracking showed the entire stretch during Russia, clearing RU customs/exiting RU, then picked up after clearing Canadian Customs.

It did not track arrival to Canada customs.

Just received a Perst 3 from Zenitco on eBay. Excellent to deal with. Was about 9 days to get it to my door, faster than Canada Post lol. Haven't had time to play with it yet but the quality seems excellent. Unit comes shipped in an aluminum box even! The North American companies could learn a thing or 2 from the Ruskies in my opinion.

I can let you know once I get mine. Ordered it on Dec.29. I ordered using my box number so they sent it stateside to get picked up by USPS and then forwarded onwards. They assured me they've done it before so hopefully it doesn't get stalled due to ITAR...

I ordered one from Ebay as well and noticed the tracking number says USPS out of Minneapolis. Glad to hear they claim it works.

Fingers crossed.

Checked the tracking and it appears to have been delivered directly to Canadian customs and was approved within an hour. Almost home to daddy now. Really makes you realize how crappy Canada post is.
