Whatever happened to "charging in with bayonets ready". Guess the good ol' days of killin' are over...

I like bullpups, but to me, a rifle sure doesn't feel like a rifle unless you can slap on a sturdy bayonet. Tally ho!

Hopefully their military is better funded than their police. Some Peruvian officers didn't have ammo for their pistols or gas for their bikes or cars. Was down there from 1999 to 2000, the police force was in a sad state.

I think the FS2000 is probably the most element proof rifle in existance.

Just think about it -everything is enclosed. Even the ejection port. The only thing left exposed is the recoil spring, but that is apparantly sealed from the reciever and if things got really bad, can run on gas setting #2.

95% of the rifle is polymer too. Nothing to rust except the chrome lined barrel. Very little lube required to run.

Peru had the Galil variant for the longest time (Made in Colombia I believe)... Actually .. seems that they had/ have alot of everthing, M16A1, AKM, Daewoo K1A1 etc. etc..

Peru has a tendency to switch alliance depending on who's in charge at the presidential palace. Their latest buddy is Hugo Chavez of Venezuela. You can bet the Peruvian army will be switching to Soviet weaponries soon.
