I need a pellet gun for squirrels. Looking for something accurate but not a crazy price.

Any suggestions?

google the Canadian supplier for this:
Artemis WF600P Under lever Air Rifle .22

He has several good bang for the buck airguns.

Price matters. What kind of budget are you willing to afford? Are you shooting in a lot of open space or a residential area? 22 is probably better than 177 in non pal but both are more than adequate if pal rated.

I've been using a Beeman P-17 with a laser for the last few years .. i usually bag 20 -30 a year.. my dog Saxon(RIP), would tree them and then catch them as they fell out of the tree,, He was an Anitolian Shepard , died Dec 23 ,2018 at age 13

K, I have a lot of fancy German guns but I have been impressed by my Titan nitro in 22, $200 or so with scope, just takes a a few hun to break in. 800fps, with light stuff so expect 650 to 700 with normals

If you can find a benjamin & sheridan Nitro piston in 22. (that shoots straight), Theyve got excellent power and easily kill squirrels and rats. Rabbits are doable but you have to place your shot well. other wise they kinda flop and its a bit inhumane. Cant tell ya how I know these things...

It will punch holes in a steel coffee can and spray bombs at around 75 yds. There was a run of these (and I got one) that would not shoot straight as whoever was running the weaver rail laser welding machine on the day wasnt paying attention... Probably a Monday or Friday gun.. Anyway.. it shoots way off to the right. So windage adjustable rings are required to make up for this idiotic error that crosman wont cover because the error was not discovered while the gun was still under warranty.. Pretty good eh? Id recommend you find something other than this gun.. something ther than crosman period... unless of course you can find one that shoots straight and this crooked shooter has got a bit of a price tag.. Its around 450 and taxes at cabels..

15 years ago I bought a Ruger Airhawk .177 with scope combo at bass pro (I think $150) at the time. I used it to kill hundreds and hundreds of pigeons at horse farms that set up in barn arena's. I wanted under 450ft/sec and used wadcutter ammo (which dropped pigeons better than others) so that I wouldn't shoot through the tin roofs. I still have this rifle and used it at 44m at the range and it grouped within a golf ball with iron sights. Still my most successful rifle ever.

Im not sure if quality is the same but if they were i'd get another in a heartbeat. The scope I tossed after the first round had it pop me in the eye from me poorly tightening the screws. It recoils like a 22lr.

Here is review I apparently wrote on Cabelas 2 years ago

Finest Pigeon Ki***ng Gun
I used this Rifle for pigeon control on the farm for several years. Great thing about this rifle is with lead rounds you are unlikely to shoot thru your tin roof. Biggest tally was 60+ pigeons in a day. At the time I was training Thoroughbreds and these pests were using my hay mound and training area as a latrine. 2 to 3 pigeons are ok, nearly 100... introducing Reuger Air Hawk. This rifle sat uncleaned for several years used off and on as needed with only the slightest speckling of rust on the outside of the barrel (only because i left it in a barn in the box for 6yrs). It has since cleaned up nice and still works fine.https://www.cabelas.ca/product/4890/ruger-air-hawk-air-rifle its not avail on that site anymore unfortunately.

I've always wanted a Diana 34, but did buy a 24 (.22) a couple of years ago to try with barn pigeons. The gun shoots under 500 fps, but I don't know by how much..I don't own a chronograph. lol It's deadly on barn pigeons though, and plenty accurate enough for that job. When testing pellets, I had my target set at 25 yards and you could get shots nearly touching on paper at that distance...so I consider it a very decent gun for pest control..and no pigeon I've set my sights on has lived to tell the tale. :)

Having mostly owned/shot .177 guns...I've learned that 22 just does a better job even if there isn't as much velocity involved. For my gun, I assume the velocity isn't there to open up hollow points so I use wadcutters to good effect. Hit with an audible/hollow "pop" sound and there isn't any part of a pigeon tough enough to stop the pellets I'm using. lol

I have an old Slavis 631 that I use for pigeons etc in a horse barn. Nothing fancy just iron sights but I’ve taken out a significant amount of pests with some fairly spectacular shots. It shoots very well!

The new nitro piston guns seem to be the way to go these days. Also priced decently. If shooting pests in or around a barn be careful of over 500 FPS. You don’t want holes in roofs etc.
