thank's

Being a wildcat, every 6.5/06 is a rule unto itself. Internal dimensions vary.
Mine topped out at 52.5, r22, 139scenar, lapua brass, 215m, seated 20 thou. off the lands.
I run it at 52grs, a fair bit lower than some of the data out there, but about max for my rifle according to case head expansion and brass life.
Tryed retumbo and got more speed with less accuracy.
It's an awesome performer with limited barrel life. Superb hunting cartridge, but its back to 6.5/55 and 308 for my target guns.

With the 140gr and Reloder powder, I'd try Re17 and Re22.

The guys loading the 6.5-284 are raving about Re17, and it has 1-2 grs more case capacity than the 6.5-06. You'd be working in the 46-48 gr range (using H4350 load data).

Nosler's #3 has a bunch not sure if their most recent one has any or not, I can check in the morning. I would expect the slower powders would work well. RL 17 not sure if this is what it is designed for. Maybe better for the 6.5 X 284. I really should buy a pound and try it in my 6.5 Ruger but the 7828 is working so well with all bullet weights.

Curious so I ran out and looked. Yes they list it in #6 and also on their website. As for RL powders they are not list on the website. Max loads from Noslers for RL 19, and their most accurate load 55.5 @ 2997 ft/sec. RL 22 57.5 @ 3042 ft/sec.

What are you planing on using for bullets? If you can get them the 130 Scirocco II or ABs should work well at the velocities your going to get. I have a antelope hunt coming up in less than a month and I'm going to try Barnes 120 TTSXs @ 3600 ft/sec. I'll see then if these preform. I have both loads for the ABs and Sciroccos plus a couple 140s and a 160. I'd be curious how Remington's Ultra Bonded works too.
Let me know how your loads work out.

hi i have serria's 140 grain boat tail spitizers layin around that iwas going to use,and use reloader's powders quite often for my other stuff so i was wanting to use somthing i already have around the bench.
where do you get your brass?i bought a reforming die from rcbs that sizes 30-06 down to 6.5-06, it work's fine.
cheers

I always made brass from 25-06, since the slight necking up does not thicken the necks at all. My pet load with 140's was with H1000, but RL 22 worked almost as well. Eagleye.

x2 eagleye. Faster powders, increase pressures, very quickly and shorten case life. by the way, I still have that M70 in 6.5-06 I picked up from you. I was tempted to pull the barrel and recut the chamber, with a shorter leade but it will stabilise 140 grain flat base bullets very well. Even with the 9 1/2 inch twist. Borderline though and won't do it with any kind of a boat tail bullet, unless it's around 120-130 grains.
