Pet Names for Guns

45-70 Sharps" Old Reliable", I didn't name it Sharps did. ;) Guess the proprietors of the company are pretty "GHEY" because the named a lot of guns....they must have really small pekers too come to think.

Actually its human nature to assign names to inanimate objects we have a special fondness for, have faith in or have put a lot of work into. The inverse is also true. Ever here of a "Tommy cooker" "Grease gun", "Zero"
The "Enola ###", "Spirit of America", "Grave Digger", "Endevor/Atlantis/Discovery", "Eleanor","Titanic"?
All pretty common and NOT "GHEY"
If you think naming a gun is foolish then simply don't. But for those that do fine. its normal.

I think giving firearms pet names is weird, but hey, whatever floats your boat bro.

I don't think it's weird to name things you own. But I haven't named all my guns 3 out of 20ish have names and these guns are special to me. My 338 wm is Black Betty. My 270 win. In a weatherby mark v is winny and my super nova is Bertha

Mine are all named after the cartridge, as in 444, or 32-20, or 303. No duplicate chambering makes it easy.

I did name one, a 10-22, its called "Beater".

Naming a rifle is like personalized licencse plates or naming private parts. Name doesn't mean much but sure says a lot about the owner!

Care to elaborate? Almost all are named ... for shizznat and giggles is all. :D ;) :p

Actually based in an old Robin Williams comedy routine about named private parts, all meant to be good natured.

I once called my 444 Big Medicine but it was so common and the name so famous that I gave it up.
