Additional Match Instructions for Competitors:

1. All rifles (and attachments) to be used by a competitor during the match must be submitted by the competitor for inspection by the Match Director or their delegate (weighed, safe trigger confirmed, measured, etc.) at the time of registration. Failure to submit a rifle(s) for inspection or use of a rifle which has not been inspected will result in the competitor being deemed ineligible and/or disqualified from the match. Except by prior special arrangement with the Match Director, all competitors must register in person and have their rifle inspected on Wednesday July 01, 2015.

2. All matches will be fired in squadded relays of three grouped shooters per relay alternating shot for shot (Bisley Style). Relays on the first day will be random, while the final two days relays will be determined by placement (seeded). Squadding assignments will be available one half hour prior to the start of each day’s matches.

3. Rifles will be placed either on the supplied rifle racks, on the line, or in your vehicles. No rifles will be left upon the ground when competitors are off of the firing point.

4. Safety is paramount. Rifles will have actions open, magazines removed (if equipped), and an Empty Chamber Indicators (ECI) inserted into the chamber at all times except when on the firing line during the preparation period or during live firing.

5. At no time is a competitor to leave the firing line with a loaded rifle. All competitors are responsible for safe rifles while on the firing line. At no time should a rifle be removed from position without the competitor having first placed an ECI in the empty chamber of their rifle and verified by the competitor’s scorekeeper and the Range Officer. The penalty for violating this rule is disqualification for both competitor and scorekeeper.

6. Competitors are permitted 45 seconds per shot. At three shooters to a mound and a 2+15 round match, this is 38.25 minutes. Each Relay will have 45 minutes to set up, shoot and retire. This will be based upon a 3 minute prep (including the move forward to the line), 2 minute target exposure (dry firing permitted) and 40 minutes to shoot and get off of the firing line. No ammunition may be loaded until the command to do so is made by the Range Officer. Time limits will be strictly enforced.

7. During the 3 minute preparation period at the beginning of each relay, the ECI may be removed, but no ammunition may be loaded at this time. Anyone who fires a shot during the preparation period will be disqualified from the competition.

8. Unlimited fouling shots will be permitted for a 1 minute period at the first shooting position for each shooter on the first day only. Rounds will be fired onto the rear berm only and hits will not be indicated.

9. The following relay is expected to have their gear behind the firing line 10-15 minutes in advance of their scheduled firing time, in the event that the relay may start early. Late arrivals will not be allowed to insert into the firing line and will score zero for that relay.

10. Parking adjacent to the 800m point and at the 900m will be limited to RSO and handicapped competitors only (no competitor parking, so be prepared to walk the distance from the 800m parking area to the 900m point via the range road.

11. Final scores will be posted at the range at the end of each day. Competitors will have 30 minutes to verify that their scores have been correctly entered.

12. Targets used in this match will be US NRA Long Range Target (5" Vee, 10" Bull).

13. Match schedules, timings and/or final course of fire may be modified by the Match Director due to any conditions affecting the match.

14. Concurrent to the PGW 2015 WCFCC, the IPSC Alberta 2015 Provincial Championship Match will be held in the adjacent ranges, July 3-5. Please make allowances for additional travel times to and from the range, due to heavy vehicle traffic on the range road.

Site Amenities: The Homestead Shooting Centre is approximately 45 minutes west of the Calgary city limits. The closest hotels are in the towns of Cochrane and Canmore, or at the Stoney Nakoda Casino (junction of Highways #1 & #40).

Limited primitive camping will be made available at the range, with no electrical hook-ups nor water/sewer services. Please remember that you are located in a wildlife area frequented by four legged predators, so proper food storage and personal security is important. The nearby public rifle range tends to be in use starting about the crack of dawn. Latrines are available on-site. Confirmation of a camping spot must be indicated on the registration form to ensure adequate space is available for all those intending to camp on site.

Meals will not be catered. Competitors will be required to bring/prepare meals and eat when they are not shooting. A BBQ supper on the Friday evening is included. Additional meal tickets may be purchased for guests, spouses, etc. ($20 per ticket). Please indicate any additional ticket requirements on the registration form.

Contacts: For letters of invitation, match programs, or additional information, please contact the Match Director, Glen Taylor at glentaylor@shaw.ca . The Match Committee assisting Mr. Taylor at the 2015 WCFCC consists of Eric Bisson, Brian Harmes and Bill Watts.

First time ever it's possible to do both Western AND Eastern's!
Add in the Nationals and Canada now has THE GRAND SLAM for shooters...
Good to see the scheduling worked out.
Worth considering...

Yes I will be there, I like your banner but somewhere here I have a pic that shows the wind flags as they truly are, pointing in three different directions, and this time around no backwards primers.

Cathy at DCRA says they are not taking memberhsips for 2015 until AFTER THE BEGINNING OF APRIL

so wait until after that to call or send your info to them, say April 6th first thing in the AM to get her week rolling

Nope - there is the public range available if people need to foul their barrels.

Scout I think you should re-consider a 1 minute blow-off for 1st relay everyday (shots not indicated) they do this at Nationals and most all Fclass shoots, not just 1st day. lots of shooters guns don't settle down after a rigorous cleaning till firing 3 or 4 shots

Every range has a different criteria - the western PRAs and major USA matches in my experience do not regularly allow a blow-off (yes, Connaught and I believe the ORA allows them) - I don't recall any at Bisley either. For the AFRA, our practice is to allow 1 non-convertible fouler at the start of each day (more to warm up the target pullers than anything else), but that's another issue. We decided that for the WCFCC, we would allow it for the first day and not the others as a compromise. The public range is a couple hundred meters away for those that feel a need to foul. The argument against foulers is that they become non-convertible sighters and an advantage to the competitor.

I'm not quite getting it (nothing new there...) - what exactly is a 1 minute blow-off period? Is it as many rounds as you can fire in 1 minute, or ? Sorry if I'm missing something obvious here...

Thanks!

From what I gather, its a chance to shoot as many rounds as you like into the back berm, in order to properly foul your barrel if you cleaned it after the last day's shooting. The targets are not pull to indicate hits.

The thing about non-convertible sighters is that they can be used to adjust your scope for the conditions of the day. The original reason was " my rifle doesn't shoot" where it's supposed to with a clean barrel. So, the powers that be instituted a opening day of blow-offs. Now the barrels are properly fouled, and the bullets land where they're supposed to. Hence, less guessing, less points lost. However, the door is open to blow-offs for each day, as most (some) competitors clean their rifle barrels after each day. So they should want the same advantage on the succeeding days. My take...no blow offs, learn what your rifle does when it's clean, and apply it.

Take a spare rifle, just in case a primer decides to change direction again! :)

I plan to be there.

Sounds like Gerry W. and Jim W. have to go to a wedding that weekend so John Tosset you'll have to represent Manitoba for FTR....
