Hello guys

I had the chance to put my hand on a PGW Coyote a couples weeks ago.
I was amaze by the quality of this rifle !!

The action look like a tank with superb machining, side bolt release, krieger barrel, Mcmillan A5, etc etc. The rifle have also a distintive look with the fluting barrel and bolt, plus this is Canadian made !!

I have pratically collect all my penny and i could place a order in september. I already own a couples customs rifles but i dont see the need to built another one when i have everything i need in a package.

To the guy who own one, what is your results in the field. I'm sure this is good but i would like to hear you.

Thanks

My 2009 Coyote has about 1500 rounds through it and shooting half MOA is trivially easy. I feel disappointed with myself if most of my groups aren't closer to the quarter MOA range. :)

As for building an equally good rifle for less money; sure you can. But, don't expect to ever be able to sell that custom rifle for anywhere near what you paid for it a couple years down the road. Whereas the Coyote is a known product from a respected manufacturer, so resale is always going to be much higher (and easier) than for a custom.

C3pppo is about right re costings and resale. The only things I would like to see changed re the Coyote are: use of AI 10 round mags rather than PGW's 8 rounders; the use of a Jewel rather than Rifle Basik trigger and the availability of a stock with more adjustments than the McM version that they use as standard which only has saddle adjustment. Overall the Coyote is an excellent rifle and outstandingly accurate.

Regarding a Jewel trigger, my opinion through personal experience is a Jewel trigger does not belong anywhere near a Coyote or any other rifle that is meant to see field use. It may be fine on a target rifle but thats it.

Agree 100% - had one fail that was BRAND new at the range the second time out!!! If you are a benchrest guy then by all means get one....anything remotely in the field, don't even bother!

I have had a Yote' for a little more than two years. My rifle sees quite a bit of use, all in the field, no range days ever. It has proven to be the highest quality firearm I have ever used or even laid hands on. The money is well spent and I can't say enough good about Ross and the staff at PGW, they have been great to deal with and produce a superior product.

I have shot out to a maximum range of 1350 yards with mine and the results are always consistent when I do my part. Proper handloads make a big difference but it will also shoot quality match ammo very well.

That being said, if you are serious about owning and using one of the best "off the rack" rifles made, spend the dollars and you won't be disappointed.

Hope this helps.

Cheers, yukoncoyote

Thanks, it is what i was looking for !

I want to use this rifle at the range but more in the field and hunt with it on long range spot that i have found. I have just heard good review from the members and i will put my order in september :)

By curiosity what is your best load. ?

With the couples .308 that i have owned i have always obtained the best results with the 155gr Lapua, varget 45gr to 46.

It is a consistant sub 0.5 moa at long range ?

Thanks

My pet load has been:

175gr SMK
Lapua cases that are match prepped
Fed 210M primer
44.5grs Varget
seated anywhere between 5 and 10 thou off the lands.

I have had really good success with 175gr Sierra Matchkings and Lapua 167gr Scenars. I have shot 168gr SMK's and wasn't very happy past 600 yards.

I hope you get your rifle and use it to it's full potential.

Cheers.
