All these companies are owned by the government. Where general populaces dollars are worthless because we are not able to buy that same stuff that our military is equiped with. They realize if its one thing terrorists dont have a shortage of its money......

If I may, ummmmm, wrong. Businesses sell to whatever market allows them to grow. What I've seen of PGW here leads me to believe that they've simply not been able to keep pace with both the government and civilian orders, and have quite sensibly chosen not to disappoint people by promising to make civilian guns and then not being able to.( This p*sses people off, just ask Robinson) Once the contract backlog is dealt with, or they can find the right people to increase capacity without compromising quality, I'm sure they'll get back to making civilian guns.Until then we'll all have to just take one for the team and be patient, rather than suggesting someone has somehow sold out.

Edited to add, I am not in any way connected to PGW, but posts that ignore reality P*ss me off.

As far as I know, this is not a government owned operation, but a private outfit that aquired a Government contract.
It may pisss you off that they cannot supply to the general population right now, but I'm sure they will in time.
I know lots of people who have waited for more than a year for rifles from outfits that do NOT supply to the Government , BTW, but are just plain too busy.

There are some with a decent turnaround time that do excellent work, however.....
Cat

I'm 100% with cat and Ian on this one, Keep in mind you can't buy semi auto Diamaco's in Canada for some mysterious reason, but you can buy Bushmasters, Armalites, Colts. So be happy you will be able to own a PGW if your heart desires, just be patient. Ever try to get your hands on a genuine C-3.

just an opinion.

They are a private company that competed with many other companies for the replacement sniper rifle. They did produce the best product and were awarded the contract by DND. Being Military, I spoke to some of those who shot the rifle. That is why they are tied up, meeting the requirements of their contract.

Our boys are in Afganastan and we are waiting for our hunting rifles. Which do you think would take priority for the company and they must honour the contract or like any contract, there are penalties.

I think they call their outfit PDT... prairie defence technologies... . Rebarreled a sweet Sako .222 for me. Took better than 2 years as P.D.T. got real loaded down trying for the government contract and even more so once it was awarded to them. Real frustrating experience for me but they do stellar work though!
