PH custom#4 hard to find

Just wondering if anyone has an idea why the Parker Hale custom#4 is seemingly so rare? Could it be as simple as there just were not that many done? I have found lots of custom #1's and supreme #4' even a couple supreme#1's .Another member has teased me with pics of his custom #4 but will not part with it.here it is. At least I know they are around now.

Every gunstore I walk into has had at least 2 or 3...Head out to more Rural gunstores I bet you can find them there. :wave:
 
I just sold a very nice honest 1 1/5 moa PH custom No4 in Chilliwack to a young fellow includeing a 3-9 Bushnell for $200. I hope he realises what he got for such a low price. There were also several for sale At the Kamloops gunshow last weekend at very reasonable prices. bearhunter
 
2 or 3 WOW! I must be looking in the wrong places.I am willing to pay up to $400 for a nice one .If you (or anyone else)can put me in contact with one of these stores that has one and it is anything less than $400 I will pay the difference to you as a finders fee.Are you sure you are not confusing these with other similar looking sporters??
 
As far as aftermarket sporter stocks go, that one xcaribooer poster is pretty nice.
Wouldn't look bad on a sporter or target No.4.

That "young fellow" was my son and he's absolutely tickled pink with the rifle. :) He didn't know it at the time but it was a gift from Dad.
He took it into the local shop and was told it was a fine rifle and a good deal.
Its his first centre fire and he has since passed his CORE and will be out in the Princeton BC area looking for bear in the next few weeks.
I showed him how to sight it in - showed him first how to bore sight and it was pretty well dead on. We went to the Tulameen Range and he quickly was shooting bulls eyes at 200 yards. Here I am with my mega bucks 30-06 and he's shooting the crap outta me. :redface:
Now I'm looking for a 303 for my use too. If only they weren't so damn expensive to shoot.
Thanks again for the good deal - he's a good kid who will treasure that rifle for years and years.
 
There are lots out there.....just stop trying to find one LOL.
Same thing happened to me with the #1 conversions by Churchill Gunmakers. I needed 1....couldn't find it. Gave up, and in the last three months I've had 3 come to me :D

Best part is I got to pick the nicest, and now put the other 2 on the EE.

Nope, and a few weeks back I saw one bought at a local gunstore I goto.
Like anything else stuff tends to show up in batches.

Already have a couple Remington 700's ,my stainless 270 is my main hunting rifle,I still want to find one of these nice sporter 303's though.There is just something about em.
 
If anyone is interested in a PH No. 4 sporter - I think it is a Supreme, has a Mk. I rear sight, there is one at Outdoors Plus in Haliburton. Sporting stocks, fine bluing, nice looking rifle. Was a Savage No. 4 Mk. I (not *). Rack price is $325.
 
There were a few Churchill No. 4 sporters for sale in the sporting exchange forum recently. I think the Churchill sporters were nicer than the Parker Hale's.
 
How can you tell if a PH is a no1 or a no4? I love Parker Hales and they are oe of the best deals in centre fire rifles as far as I am concerned. Also a legal 10 round mag and a very fast and slick action make them a great choice for zombie defence. The craftsmanship that went into a real Parker Hale sporter is nothing like a bubba or even a modern rifle. You won't be finding any 200$ Remington 700's either.
 
The difference is simply what action it is.#1mk3 =custom #1,#4mk1 =custom#4.
I have given up looking for a custom#4 and decided to have my own version made at Bits n Pieces.It is starting out as a supreme#4 and having the action milled the same as the custom.The only difference will be that mine will have a camo synthetic stock instead of the two tone wood.
