Earl Green, of Phase Line Green Tactical is coming to the Victoria Fish and Game Protective Association on April 26 & 27.

Carbine (2 day)

This course focuses on the development of accuracy and speed during the course of shooting scenarios. Skills development will focus on fluid manipulation and target engagement, multiple target engagement, shooting on the move and from various positions as dictated by the environment. This course will be of special value to the competitive shooter who wishes to build on their library of competitive shooting skills. The instructor reserves the right to vet candidates based upon their abilities.

Required equipment:

- Reliable rifle and at least 5 magazines (5 round 10 round LAR mags are fine) - Any centre-fire, semi auto rifle will work. Generally we get the AR platfrom but we have experience with almost all modern platforms!
- Iron sights or optics
- Sturdy pistol belt, a holster that covers the trigger guard, and at least 2 pistol magazine pouches and 3 rifle magazine pouches.
- Chest rigs and drop holsters are fine. For police and military we encourage wearing operational gear (including armour)
NO SERPA holsters!
- 250 rounds of reliable pistol ammunition, 400 rounds of rifle ammunition
- Hearing protection, eye protection and a baseball cap
- It's a good idea to pack a cleaning kit, lube and spare parts if you have them (or even a spare gun!)
- Knee and elbow pads are encouraged. You may wear gloves if you wish
- Clothing suitable for inclement weather
- Water, lunch and snacks
- Pen and pad if you wish to take notes (always a good idea)

Course size is limited to 10-12 shooters, so sign up quickly as I've yet to see a Victoria course that hasn't filled fast.

Cost: $ $400 + GST = $420 (Note that a deposit of $100.00 will be required and is non-refundable should the participant not attend).

One week out!

Hi Guys,
The club opens at 8:30 am with shooting allowed to start at 9:00am. If you aren't already a member of VFG please wait at the entrance to the club (in the parking area beside the caretakers house) at 8:45am so you can follow us down to the range for a 9:00am start. There is a locked gate into the Multipurpose range so we need to let you in if you aren't already a member. We will be located on Bay 7.

Here is the address and directions to the club for the non-local participants:

700 Holker Place, Malahat BC, V9B 2V5

Directions to Victoria Fish Game

The club is located a short 20 minute drive north of Victoria. Travel north from Victoria on the Trans Canada Highway #1 to the top of Malahat Mountain. Turn right on to Holker Place, and go 100 meters to our property entrance. Holker Place is approximately 1 kilometer past Shawnigan Lake Road and is opposite the turnoff to Spectacle Lake Provincial Park.

The Multi Purpose range has a pota john for washroom facilities. You need to pack in your lunch and bring lots of water, etc. I also recommend bringing knee pads of some sort because of the terrain. It's not going to rain, (but bring your rain gear just in case). :D

EDIT: You aren't going to need it, but if any of you have one of those pop up canopies, please bring it with you. :D

just fyi. one of the board of directors of the bc college of opticians will be shooting with us. so if you have questions about shooting glasses, or shooting with f*cked up eyes, he'll be glad to offer advice.

I was going to try to update this thread last night but, I was just too damn tired! I barely had enough energy to soak the guns in G96 and take a shower!

Another awesome course. All of the participants in this course had taken a PLG course before so by second day he had switched to advanced evolutions. Earl focused a ton on accuracy and timed drills. So we really had to find that balance between speed and accuracy. It was humbling and eye opening to see some of the faster shooters have to dial their speed way back to get their hits or suffer big time penalties, or even drill failures for misses. I learned a lot about my actual capabilities in the last two days.

I still fully believe that Team #### Fluffer cheated when they beat Team Knob Gobbler. :D

Many thanks to Earl for putting on another great course. If you haven't trained with PLG, you are missing out. I've taken numerous courses with Earl, and I give full credit to him as the single most major influence in the improvements in my shooting. I saw this with every shooter on the course as well. We had some very, very good shooters there. They were a switched on group and it made for a very enjoyable and safe course.
