I would love to get some bird hunting in before the season ends. I live in North Vancouver and can't really go on a big trip, would have to just be a day. Can anyone here point me in the right direction to find a spot? I'm thinking Squamish maybe for grouse? And I have heard there's pheasant in Ladner but I wouldn't know where to start looking.

Thanks! Also, I am a first time hunter so if anyone wants to mentor me I would be very appreciative.

JR, pheasants in Ladner are a tight commodity..you know the ''old boys club'' but that doesnt mean they fly outside the dykes in West Ladner.
The area inside the dykes(farmland) require permission from the land owners and it is not given freely.
You may find some guys on here who may allow you to tag along, but the farmer on the corner of zipperlip lane and good luck corner is pretty tight.
Grouse, now that is another story... have you perused the hunting regs?
If you have a car/suv head up and see what the roads are like, but with the rain the chickens will be tough to find right now.
Just some observations and maybe offer enough vagueness to tempt you into checking it out further.
