today i was about 10 minutes southwest of brantford and we thought there was a crow on the road but then when we got closer we realized it wasnt walking like a crow and it turned out to be a big rooster pheasant. so we slowed down to about 20 because he was in no rush to cross the road and i look to the right and see 3 hens in the ditch.

do you guys think it could be wild birds or just birds from a pheasnt farm? a few minutes away from there i saw a hen and rooster while hunting.

There is a great place in Mallorytown, near Gananoque.

Preserve birds that escaped. There are many places in Ontario, including a few in the Brantford area, where planted pheasants are hunted.

Would not have been on Mt. Pleasant Road just past Blossom Ave would it, (Walnut Crest Game Farm) is a little up the road.Good spot to hunt.

lol it was actually about 1/2km from mt pleasant rd on blossom;)

are you serious theres a game farm on mt pleasant rd? my grandparents have lived out there for 13 years i think ive never heard of it  pm me details please:D

I used to duck hunt a pond that bordered a pheasant farm, needless to say we always got some pheasant to go with our ducks. Guys would pay to hunt them, and they'd fly across the pond and over our blinds....

Game farm

Walnut Crest Game Farm& Labs, Be My Guest B&B on the right at the first bend toward Mt. Pleasant from Blossom Ave.. Who are your grandparents I lived out there for 25 years and parents are still there. The game farm is owned by Doug Guest an old friend of mine.

I find as well that the best way to introduce pheasants into the wild is to wack them as soon as the escape from a game farm. Really insures a wild population like the turkeys???
