Philippines made?

that was what I was getting at. now that Leupold is making scopes in China and the ones that are assembled in the U.S. are using a lot of chinese parts.. are they still an 'american' scope?

All Leupold rifle scopes are manufactured in the USA including the Refield models. The lenses are manufactured in Japan as they have for years. All gold ring binos and spotters are also manufactured in the USA. The Windriver line of bino's, spotters and range finders are manufactured off shore (usually China). Phil.

Scopes are a crap shoot ( pun intended ) Cheap or expensive they can all have problems. I agree that it's quality control that matters, not where they are manufactured.
