Here is a photo from our SASS Regional Championship Match held at the Courtenay Fish & Game Club on the Labour Day weekend. This fellow is from Kamloops, and he is shooting an 1873 Winchester manufactured in 1889.

My '97 baffles me.........I'm not entirely sure I know how to lock the take-down area securely in place.........

Sorry for the belated reply - I wanted to check to see my 1987 "in person" before I responded.....

The "rod" is indeed pivoted "bottom-right-to-top-left", but while the barrel seems to be locked-in tight, the whole thing can rotate about the barrel, leaving the magazine-tube twisted 90 degrees from where it ought to be...........this is probably a very silly question/fix, but it does baffle me........
