photo of trichinosis from a black bear, do you still want to eat bear meat?

It is a grainy low res vid that reeks of faked to me. All meat has the potential for parasites of some sort, even those you can't see in it. As long as the bear, deer, moose etc. is not infested, just cook well and you have nothing to worry about.

that is not trichinosis as others already said.

you can`t see it: it is inside the muscle and can`t be seen without a microscope and a biopsy.

a well cooked bear will stop you from thinking about any issues.

enjoy that reading.

If only you guys saw what, and how they eat stuff in Africa, or other parts of the world. I've consumed loads of meat that was nothing but sundried and seasoned- still here, still eating. We are very soft in the west! :)

I've watched bloated animals that sat in the sun a couple days be butchered and consumed just dried with gusto as well. Watching essentially raw green meat that smells like a foul cheese be consumed with smiles will fix you for any squeamishness with Canadian game and handling.

It is discouraging how many times that faked pork chop / worm video keeps coming back as if it is showing a true fact. FAKE! Believe what you want to, but please don't spread that lie any more. As others have posted, bear roundworms are harmless to people. Trichinosis is serious, but you can't see those worms without training and magnification.

The only thing that will for sure kill a parasite is properly cooking to at least 65c. Properly cooked you can eat just about anything.

Ardent: that you are fine doesn't mean ou haven't gotten a parasite from your journeys. Many parasites can survive inside us for decades without showing any real effects.

Check out a book called "Parasite Rex" for a really interesting read on some really icky parasitic organisms.

Try pork instead!

Really ?

A crappy resolution video with more cuts than a emo kid and we are to take it as the truth ? The last thing he picked up didnt move you couldnt get a good look at it as he was wiggling it around. But it looked like a piece of minute rice.

every spring their is someone that gets worried about eating bear meat. I love eating bear meat and will continue to do so. I have seen nasty pork beef and the worst of them all is farmed Chicken. As others have said cook it properly and you will not have a issue

You can live your whole life afraid of things, or you can just live. I'll continue to enjoy life without excessive worry.
