Photobucket WTF???

I cannot view any photos which are hosted by Photobucket (which is a lot on this forum). I get this:

What is going on? I used to be able to see these pics! is there something that I have to do? I have NEVER had a photobucket account and don't plan on as there are better photo hosting sites out there.

This is been covered extensively, just search photobucket.

Try Imgur, lots of guys including myself are using it and it's quite simple to use.
 
I too deleted my Photo bucket pics and deleted my account. Imgur is a bit more trouble to navigate but is so far still hosting third party files.

if you search photobucket, you get all the posts with a photo from photobucket which is 240 pages.searching for the info does not work, I have tried! Why are people still using this if others cant view the photos?
 
There are thousands ( millions?) of sites where helpful people have given advice, complete with pictures hosted by PB - which are now made useless. Imagine having worked up a family tree history with pics - all hosted by PB, then as you age, your work is inaccessible - and will not be redone.

We were looking for a suitcase yesterday, and opened one old case in the store room to find all our old love letters and pictures and stuff from our wedding. Paper is so flimsy and temporary, but is more permanent than any digital thingy.

Facebook people must have some sort of picture hosting arrangement?

It is true that if it were easier to put pics in an WTS listing, we would do more selling.

I will buy member status on CGN - like Sailor says. One question though - I wonder if I can use CGN hosting to send pictures to someone else - like say if I want to sell a tractor somewhere else?

Life got complicated since we got rid of the crank telephone. "Hello - Central?"

CGN hosting is only for CGN.

Use Kijiji to sell oddball items Face 2 Face.

For image hosting like photobucket but free again, use Imgur.

I would beg to differ. The above was found on the first page using the search function using the word "photobucket"

Also, photo hosted with imgur, took about 45 seconds from screen shot to hosted.
If you use iPhone, download the app, upload the photo, login to website, find said photo and select, select BBcode and copy link, POST!

By far the easiest hosting app I've used. Would just be nice if I could get the BBcode link from the app.
 
Hmmmm, I think that people are confused about my post I have never used photobucket and have always used another site to upload and host photos. I have no problem posting photos. My problem is VIEWING them. I am one that will not buy something on the exchange without a photo. No pic no sale! It is frustrating to see that Photobucket message in place of a picture. For the record though, I have never had an issue posting pics on CGN.

This is not an issue with your ability to view PB pix; if you're seeing that message so is everyone else (except the person who posted it--which is why you're seeing even today ads posted with no pictures visible except that Third Party Hosting message; everything looks fine to the member who posted the ad).
 
The reason you see that is photobucket broke the web in July. They changed their TOS overnight, disabled 3rd party hosting which allows you to link to pics in forums etc and put a system in place thay requires a photobucket user to pay 299 US$ per year to do what used to be free.

Obviously very few people will pay that much let alone how it was handled. So you see the image you posted when people have not updated the BB code to a new site and it is still linked to photobuclet.

Seems to be the host of choice... for now anyway. Does Imgur also handle video? Not a deal-breaker but it would be nice to be able to keep all such stuff in the same place. (I'm a Supporting Member of CGN so don't have any problem posting her, although apparently member uploading doesn't work in the Off Topics.)

Photobucket wants $399 US to enable "3rd party viewing". You can probably understand why so many people refused to pay Photobucket's ransom, which is why you can't view so many pictures.

There are thousands of pics on here hosted by PB that no longer work since around July. Same goes for all the other sites I frequent. This is definitely not new news and yes it is a pain in the azz. People need to use something other then PB.
