Well I've got the bug, my poor old stock 10/22 won't know what hit her.

Mailman has been busy this week.

Tapco T6 Stock
Tactical Solutions fluted lightweight barrel (will have to relieve the T6 barrel channel before installing)
Vertical Foregrip
Quick detach flashlight mount
Surefire G3 (was going to get a G2, but go big or go home)
G3 pressure switch (will decide whether to use the pressure swith or endcap switch after mounting on the stock and trying a few ways)
Picatinny offset angled rail adapter (for flashlight mount)

Relieving the barrel channel on the Tapco was pretty straight forward today. Can't use the Tapco top handguard but I'd rather see the fluting on the Tac Sol barrel anyway. Will need some final fitting but close enough for a quick pic of things to come.

Picatinny offset angled rail adapter

Is that really necessary?

Aside from that, can't wait to see it all together.

Don't know yet. I've never owned anything with a lower foregrip/picatinny rail/flashlight. I wasn't sure how it would all go together and feel, if you know what I mean. Likewise the pressure switch and the endcap switch. I'll just mess around and see what combination of parts and positions works best.

I've never owned a good flashlight either, the Surefire G3 is great. I think it's maximum effective range is greater than a .22 rimfire. :D

Not really sure what I'm going to do with a light on a .22, maybe mini-zombies? I think I'm going to have a lot of fun putting it together and running a few bricks through it at EOHC.

Where did you order your barrel?

Tac Sol barrel from rimfiresports.com, excellent service.

Tapco stock from Brownells.com, likewise excellent service.

I also ordered some VQ parts from hawktech (not in the pic).

Not sure why everyone gets so wrapped up about cross-border orders. Order online, strong dollar, free shipping (from rimfiresports and hawktech), no hassles, right to your door.

The off set adapter is usually for a side rail to angle the flash light towards the bottom so that a thumb or finger can use the tail cap switch by ideally not having to remove his hand from the grip.
If it's mounted on a bottom rail though it also might angle the light away from your hand so your not hitting all the time. Maybe, just a thought.

I always thought a .22 with a mounted light would be good for those damn skunks that seem to like digging our lawn up at night. Quieter then a 12ga anyways. I'll find out this summer if i'm right :50cal:

After trying all the permutations of endcaps/switches/mounts I settled on KISS. I really like the Surefire mount as with a push of the button it slides off for use as a handheld. Threw on a C7 sling too.

Presently working on trigger group/action parts, disassemble, cleaning, mods as per 10/22 sticky then in with the VQ parts.

Looking good my son wants that barrel too on his Tapco. any chance of seeing a pic looking at barrel / stock from above.:)

Finally finished my 10/22.

I smoothed and polished all the internals as per the sticky, chamfered the rear of the bolt and did a couple of mods recommended at rimfirecentral.

Installed a VQ extractor, extended mag release, extended bolt handle/recoil spring assembly and auto bolt release. Plus a bolt buffer.

PC scopemount and for now a red dot and C7 sling.

I'm amazed how smooth the action and trigger pull are now. I'm going to run a brick of subsonic through it to check reliability.

I've got 3 spare lithium batteries in the vertical grip and the Tapco stock has a storage compartment in the pistol grip. I've stashed a red dot battery, some allen keys for dissassembly and a few common spare parts in there.

That doesn't look half bad.... What was the issue why the Tapco top handguard/cover wouldn't fit? Was there not enough material there to remove to allow proper fitment of the barrel? or did you just not want to use it?

A few reasons:

To strip you would have to remove the 4 screws that hold the top handguard on, instead of just the action screw. Simpler to strip/clean without it.

Top handguard is very thin, not enough material left if bull barrel fitted.

I prefer a good solid receiver mount for optics, don't need top handguard rail.

Tha Tac Sol barrel is really well made with fluting, I like the looks of it. I didn't want to cover it up with a hunk of plastic that serves no purpose.
