For those of you with 597's could I see a detailed picture of the .22lr magazine and the .17hmr magazine please. I have a 597 HMR Target on the way and want to see how easy/difficult it will be to have a .22lr conversion for it. The barrel is obvious and should be the easy part, however I hope I can modify hmr magazines to work with .22lr innerds. The bolt springs are another thing....

To do a conversion you would need to change the Magwell/lower and the barrel
I played with this idea for a bit when I had a .22mag and the .22lr
Unless you have a machine shop, lots of $ and time, its not gonna happen:(
 
From my understanding over at rimfirecentral for conversion I'd need a barrel and have to modify magnum magazines to hold .22lr. Also I might have to fiddle with the bolt guide springs. Am I missing something here?
