Why put an Aimpoint on an M14? It's not exactly a room-clearing CQB rifle...?

it can be, with a short barrel of course
and another stock, something like that (2:00-3:10)

LOL- the TROY Chassis is the LAST thing I would want on a CQB rifle. It makes the rifle weight a TON, even with a shorter barrel. I'm thinking a VLTOR Modstock or similar would be a far more sensible choice.

if by a ton you mean 2 extra pound, I get your point

From Fulton Armory:
Stock Weight: 5.1 lbs (only 2.05 lbs more than a GI stock and handguards)
Rifle Weight with 18.5" Barrel: 10.65 lbs

Don't get me wrong, I like the Troy stock just fine - it's a nice unit. It's just heavy, but then again, so is a Sage (I think it's slightly lighter than the Troy) or an AKM.

they are cool looking and work well, but I wouldn't want to hump one all day or have to do room-clearng drills with one for any mount of time.

Maybe I'm just wimpy?

I liked this set-up exspecaily when hunting out door's & since I never shot anything passed a 100 yards it worked great in my mind but to each there own
