Im going to purchase a picatinney rail for my savage 111 LA LRH sometime here because the weaver and dove tail syle dont give much room for eye relif. Just wondering if the aluminum offers enough rigidity and will hold zero just as good as the steel as this is the gun I will be using for sheep hunting.

Depends on the type of aluminum used to make the rail.
6061 is commonly used in the cheap rails and is very soft.
7075 is used by the more expensive rails and is quite rigid, so if properly mounted will work very well and be lighter than a steel rail will be by about 40%
