I want to find a picatinny rail to fit my 33/40 Mauser .. It is a custom 257 Roberts if that makes any difference ..If you Google picatinny rail for Mauser you will get lots of pictures of model 98 Mausers with them on ... But no info where to buy them .. It has Leopold mounts and rings now so I assume ( you should never assume anything ) that it is the same rings as a 98 ,,,, Maybe a site sponsor sells them..
Any help would be great ..

Hirsch Precision... Ken Farrell makes a base for 96/98 and EGW. When I inquired about them for the M96 I had it was around 90$ and theyre picatinny.

What does EGW stand for

It appears you can get a rail for a big ring gun .. but there is no listing for the small ring Mauser .. The 33/40 is a small ring .
May have to take it too a gun smith .. There is rails that are undrilled .. Maybe that route would work too if the big ring and small ring would interchange .. just different bolt pattern on the holes

Wouldnt Mauser 96 be small ring, and Ken Farrell List some..Maybe talk to them, and have them not drill one.

I really appreciate the help .. My question is .. Does the 96 and 33/40 interchange ..or is the 33/40 an animal all it's own ..And because this is a 257 built off the Mauser action ..who is too say how it is drilled .. Or was there a certain pattern used by all gunsmiths for the big ring and then the small ring ... If one smith drilled a model 38 and one drilled a 96 would the rings interchange .. If I knew for sure all small rings would work I would just look for a 96 because most people do not know what a 33/40 is and neither did I till I bought this one.. Again thanks for the patience...
