Picatinny Rail for Sako 85

Glad it worked out for you ! Richard is a great guy . I've used both of mine for awhile now and the finish on mine is black and tough not a sign of the rebounding brass yet . He showed me a test trying to scratch one with a screwdriver on a scrap piece he had and no marks !!

I was just using optilumps. I'm pretty stoked on trying this near rail thing.

On the L/XL action the rail is amazing. Mounting options are pretty much unlimited now. With the Leupold / Optilock combos, lots of scopes couldn't mounted at all because you needed at least 6" of tube. I'm sure all action sizes would benefit.

Ditto , ^^^
I have two action sizes and was going for the third but as I posted before he couldn't do one because my action wasn't level be sure it doesn't rock with a straight edge from front to back , mine wasn't off by much but he is a perfectionist and advised against it because it showed a slight wobble

By the way with his mount I can change scopes back and forth to different guns with repeatable zero . I just keep track of the elivation settings from one to the other . Other mounts should or might work too

I was looking at my Remington 700 with it's one piece Nightforce direct mount and though a rail would look good on there. This way I could use my NXS on the Sako for load development. I'll resist the temptation for now, don't know for how long though...
