will be going at the range soon
was mounting the scope today and was doing bore sighting and it seem to be hayer when I move it back….. but that is bore sighting will see when firing it the picatiny is NEAR should be spot on
While the answer you have gotten is correct don't be surprised if your poi does shift a wee bit as pretty much every time you move the scope such a thing will happen.
the rifle is a hunting rifle and in hunting season it gets cold here in Quebec and I like to reposition the scope backwards in order to compensate for the thicness of the clothing,,,, will be able to live with a small shift in impact
If the eye relief is that finicky, maybe you could run a thicker recoil pad in the warmer months, and a thinner one in the winter months, and possibly maintain the same length of pull at the same time, without having to move the optic?
Your theoretical elevation will not change, but to manufacturing tolerances in picatinny rails you will almost certainly have a POI shift. Even some of the best manufacturers out there will only guarantee accuracy to 1MOA from pulling off your mount and putting it back on the exact same slot.
You will not have any elevation gain or loss other than your POI shift from moving the mount.
