Pick the scope please

I've finally made my mind up... and will be picking up a new sps 700 tactical HB threaded 20 inch on Friday. As soon as that finalized, Im ordering an arch angel promag 700 stock from jerry. I'd order now, but I want to be 100% sure I obtain the rifle first. I've done a ton of research on which scope that fits my criteria and have three to choose from.... But I'm unsure on which has best glass...

Bushnell elite 3.5-21 no zero stop model DMR g2 , 34 mm tube approx $1500
Burris xtr II 4-20 or 5-25 ... G2B mil ret... 34 mm tube approx $1400-1450
Vortex pst ffp 6-24... 30mm tube ... ERB mil ret...

The vortex is cheapest, Burris middle....Bushnell most expensive. If you get zero stop on bushnell. $400 more than Burris.

I know there is a lot of talk about the sightron here, but to be honest it looks cheap to me, and the name is unknown in a lot of circles, which makes me not trust it. I just left it off my list and will maybe try one out one day, but not now.

So is the vortex in the same league as the other two? It's significantly cheaper! They all have the same features give or take, and similar no question asked warranty. I've looked through the the bushnell and it looked very good to me, but didn't compare that day to anything else side by side. I've only owned a bushnell 4200 3-9 and Nikon monarch 3 3-12 and the bushnell was nicer glass than both of them...

Any other suggestions as well I guess...
 
So if you have a preference, please tell me why? and what experience you have with it...

A lot of times on forums people just re-iterate what they have read. I looking for people that have actually looked through and held these scopes in their hands.

I have a vortex 6-24 50, and I love it. Decent glass for the buck, you can shim it for a zero stop, and if you add on a 20 MOA rail then you will be golden.

I don't need to have used a Vortex, all you need to do is read all the threads on how great their warranty department is. If Vortex was the last scope on earth I would shoot open sights.
The Bushnell has been used and tested by many shooters especially tactical guys that have put them through their paces and has received many favorable reviews and comment. That's enough for me. As far as the Burris goes, If you want to be a trailblazer, go right ahead but I would go with something proven myself.

Vortex has an excellent warranty and outstanding service, I need not bash other brands. I have had others on different rifles and right now on my 308 it's the vortex. FFP is an excellent addition to the scope line up. Give it a try, I think you will like it.

No thanks, they may have a better product with the Gen II but for that kind of money I would extend my budget a few bucks go with a true high end scope like a Nightforce Beast, S&B, TT, Hensoldt....

The used Nightforce has crossed my mind, but I've watched and not seen one for a decent price on EE lately. As for Sightron? I just would not like my purchase I don't think, its like buying a ford truck, I'm sure it does everything great, but I don't want to be seen driving it!!!! :)
 
A little more research done, and I have one more question before tomorrow when I buy a scope....

The bushnell elite tac 3.5 to 21 is 350 bucks more than than the 6 to 24 with same retical.g2. Is there a difference in glass between these two? Both are ffp, but the 21x is 34mm and the 24x is 30mm. So there is a bunch more elevation on the first scope. I believe 30 mils vs 20mils ...

Also what base would you go with? Mark 4? Warne? What?
 
Go with the 34mm tube. Get a decent base; no need to get NF or Mk4 unless cash is burning a hole in the pocket - get a Talley, very good and very well-priced and get a set of TPS rings.
 
I could be wrong, but I think Bushynell has a couple new offerings.
Elilte 3500 & 4500.
New offering to stay in line with the old 3200 & 4200's.
Be curious to know how they changed anything in them?
I know I like the Elite cross hairs better.
A bit more petite than the older stuff.
Resembles the Leupold hares.

OP, there is a zillion hours of research and experience behind this comment. It will save you a pile of frustration by following this advice.

Some posters here on the board have developed a lot of respect due to their knowledge experience and honesty. This is a poster who's advice is well worth taking. You asked for advice and really have about the best advice you are going to get....
 
I purchased a Bushnell DMR with a Talley pic rail and Vortex 34 mm rings..very very happy with this set up. This optic has just as good of glass as my Swarovski Z5, which is no slouch.
Whatch for sales..I purchased my DMR for less then a Sightron SIII or Viper PST. If you do decide on a 34 mm tube size Prairie Guntraders has the Vortex precision rings (Seekins) for $179...most CGN sponsers want $220

Thanks. Everyone had good info. I took all the info and then based on available product to me and budget I ended up with the pst 6-24 ffp. I almost bought the Burris xtr 2 5-25 but side by side in sunlight I preferd the vortex. I didn't have the chance to buy the bushnell where I went today due to it being out of stock. There was a zero stop xrs version but it was too much. It was 900 dollars more than the vortex and that was just too much. I traded my hunting rifle in and ended with a nice package. Thanks prairie gun traders. I will post a pic when I get the scope mounted tonight. Cheers everyone.

Again thanks.... It may not seem as I took your advice , but I truly did.... Just may need to learn some lessons for myself. I know this is only the beginning.

Anyway, proud of this today, my first tac rifle. Now to get out and shoot!
