Pick the scope please

Nice looking rig. The Vortex PST is the best features/value amongst the Vortex line ( I am not a Vortex fan but I do have two of these ). Nice base and ok rings which will be fine until you get some TPS ones LOL.

Now one thing you will need to do is replace that stock. Got lots of cash ? Get, for example, a McMillian M40 HTG - I have one; really nice. Got less cash ? Then then get a Bell and Carlson ( I have them all but really like the A3 with butthook ).
 
All these questions and all this advise, but the OP did not once say what the gun would be used for.

I have the same basic rifle and it's topped with a Weaver Classic 4x16AO. Perfect for my needs, range plinking @ 200yds.
 
Well. I used to hunt but don't really care for it too much. I liked getting out and doing the hunting but didn't enjoy the work after. I also don't enjoy venison very much. But I love guns and shooting. So as a lot of people are nowadays, I'm wanting to just shoot. Long distance is sort of ###y to think about but I'll have to progress to distances as the furthest shot I've ever taken is 300 m.

This rifle is purpose built to be a tactical looking rig that didn't bust the bank totally. I am considering the arch angel stock or maybe bell and Carlson. But after unloading the cash on what I got yesterday. That will have to wait a little while. I am going to put a muzzle brake on soon too.

The rings I bought were not my first choice really, it was the only thing that was fully steel and quality he had in stock at 30mm. There was nice matched vortex tactical ones but they were 34mm. I was getting them with the Burris until I changed my mind last minute after evaluating the scopes. The Leo's are growing on me the more I look at them. Let's see how they hold up. I looked through an shv night force and it looked as nice or nicer than the vortex glass but had capped turrets and a reticle that I did not care for. Also looked through a lower line sightron and was impressed with glass but not with the rest of it. It wasn't what I was looking for anyway.

BTW, picked up a muzzle brake the other day for my 308 AAC-sd, what a world of difference. She no longer kicks like a mule, recoild is comparable to a .223.

Only down side now is the wife likes it, that might be the "out" I will have to use to maybe pick up that .338 I have been eyeing up. LOL
