I buddy called with a pretty nice Colt 3X optic. These are the same as shipped on the SP1 back in the early 80's and earlier. Not terribly common today and seem to sell for stupid money for some reason - the Colt logo probably.
Terrible field of view, but nice eye relief, positive mounting and optics are nice and crisp. Early ones were made in the USA (only a could years?), then made in Japan. this is an early Japan scope. The late production ones were more cheaply made and had the Colt logo silk-screened on instead of engraved like this one.
Looks at home on the upper I have set aside for my C8 build.
