in the time it took you to post that you could have had a few pics up..... just sayin.
Except I was on my phone at work, not in my gun room...
Anyhow, here are the promised "unboxing" pictures.
The original tape, starting to get old and crinkly.
The styrofoam packing and the gun. The packing was glued into the box, but it's let go and gotten loose over the years. Kept the gun pretty safe though, I'd say.
But that reminds me... someone was debating here maybe a month ago that 70's era Wingmasters NEVER came with what many people call "police wood". Well I know for a fact this gun has not been monkeyed with and had been in storage since it was bought in the 70's. And there you go. An AP shipped with walnut "police wood", which is really just a standard non-deluxe walnut stock set.
A factory MOD choke, which is cool. Most of these would have been FULL in the lead shot era. DX = November 1973.
A nice crisp roll stamp.
I regret that it's not a Deluxe gun or one with a knurled faux-rib matting along the top of the barrel, or that it's not a 28g or .410, but oh well. Beggars can't be choosers. Now I need to decide whether to actually put it to work, or use my other 870's for that.
Or maybe someone would trade me for a current production Wingmaster... Hmm... haven't got one of those yet and I'd feel less guilty shooting one a bunch.
