I haven't done much shooting in the last few years, I took a break from it and other hobbies kind of ran away with my time. I used to love shooting SB silhouette, I own a full set of 40 animals/rail, plus swingers. I got bit by the bug again with the purchase of a Weihrauch HW100T .22 and enjoyed the quality and accuracy of this air rifle immensely.
With the recent purchase of a 7.5 acre piece of land that is more than friendly for shooting .22 on, I wanted to pick up something that would tickle my accuracy fancy. I did some searching and saw the Cooper rifles, but they seem to get a bad rap on feeding issues.
I then investigated the Anschutz sporters and came across the 64 MP R, which in pictures looked absolutely beautiful to me. I loved the design of the stock, from the Monte Carlo, the ambi grip (I'm a lefty) to the beavertail fore end and the loooong fat barrel, perfect!!!
I received the rifle the other day, and was nothing short of impressed, I can't wait to get some lead down range once I get the optics on it. I've ordered a Leupold 6.5-20 EFR, and plan on mounting it nice and low to compliment the clean lines of the rifle. The trigger is of course legendary, if anything, I need to up the weight.
I have to machine up an adaptor to mount a Harris bipod on the handstop rail as well.
I've got in my possession already, a case of 5000 Lapua Centre X compliments of Uncle Lapua (Peter Dobson/Hirsch Precision).
Once I actually do some shooting, I'll post up some results and maybe a pic or two.
The plan is to build a nice safe backstop and a small shed to shoot from, and have a permanent 100m range at my disposal.
