He has two children and just now thought of firearms around children bothered him, even though they were locked in a secure area.

Wow, that's weird. Why would this bother him if they are locked in a secure area? Are his kids little "Houdinis" and can get into locked secure areas ??

I have 2 kids (9 and 14) and have no worries about my firearms as they are locked up securely. Also, as a responsible firearm owner I have educated my wife and children about firearms and brought them to the range to demonstrate and have them handle and fire them. That's how you pass on the love of the hobby.

My father never taught me a single thing about firearms but I was never scared of them. I was more scared of his Skil Saw !! I learnt everything I know about firearms from my older brother. He is the one that got me into hunting and shooting firearms as a hobby.
