Picked up some 28 gauge ammunition.5 rounds Western Super-X paper number 4,10 rounds C-I-L Imperial plastic number 4,10 rounds Dominion 2 1/2 inch,a box of English made Gamebore and 5 loose Gamebore shells.

Still looking for a few boxes of Peters blue 28 gauge shells,in boxes, like the in the link.Notice the see through blue plastic shown on one side of the box.These are the ones I really want,to go with the Remington green see through 28 gauge plastic shells I already have.However ,I would take any 28 gauge Peters shells I could come across.:)

I picked up some CIL 28 plastic #4 all loose no boxes going to use them on rabbits with a mod choke. I have a bunch of the Rem green plastic they reload well but use a #57 primer which i still have in stock.

Those C-I-L Imperial number 4 should work great on the rabbits.

I have some of those older Remington shells that used the # 57 primer,still have some in original boxes and some that I shot and reloaded.Have quite a few of the old #57 primers.Remington and CCI manufacture ,if I remember rightly.

What manufacture are your #57 primers?
 
Remington #57 but that #57 shell case easely sizes up to #209 primers. Have you used any of the BP wads or components ? I load a lot of Federal hulls in the 7/8 and 1oz with the Italian components. Also have had good results with Cheditte and Fiocchi hulls but they take more adjustments on the loading press as do the Federals. The double A hulls do best with a 3/4 z load.
 
Interesting about the use of 209 primers in the 57 primer hulls.I had always read ,that the 209 primers were too large to fit properly.How do you size the primer holes up ?I know I have had to size the primer holes on the Fiocchi and Cheddite hulls down.I use Winchester 209 primers.

Have not loaded any 28 gauge stuff for a long while now.When I did ,I used the old fibre wads to get a one ounce load.For the other loads, I used Remington,Winchester or Federal wads.Also had some BPI wads at one time,but sold them a few years ago,as well as most of my fibre wads.

Used 28 gauge Fiocchi,Cheditte,Imperial,Winchester and Remington hulls.
 
57 to 209 just size the hull install a spent 209 and resize and prime with a new 209 works like a charm being doing it for years. BPI has some very good 28 gauge plastic wads for 7/8 and 1 oz loads. The component selection has never been better for the 28

That's a great idea,warzaw with the primers,Never thought of that.:( If a used primer gets crushed ,you are not out a thing.:)

Yes. you are right the selection of 28 gauge guns,ammunition and reloading components has never been better.When I first started using the 28 gauge, all the guns available were some single shots and expensive SXS or O/U guns.The 28 gauge HIgh Standard Flite King,Remington Model 11-48 and Winchester Model 12 were discontinued.Remington had not yet come out with the Model 1100 and 870 in 28 gauge.
 
You wont crush many if you go slow and you definetly won't blow yourself up :LOL: 11-48 and FliteKing you are an old fart. :D A lot of the 11-48 had cutts comps on them and AA were $40 a flat.

Who you calling old?:)

In the past, I had both a 28 gauge Flite King and 11-48.Probably should of kept both,but there are so many guns and so little money.:(The Flite King was a about mint, with a vent rid modified choke barrel.The Remington Model 11-48 was a skeet gun.It gave the best patterns of any 28 gauge gun I have ever had ,using Remington Express 7 1/2 shot.It did not have a Cutts.
 
Where are you finding the BPI wads in Canada for 28 gauge? I'm just reloading skeet loads so using claybusters with WSF powder and a 3/4 ounce load.

I see some at x - reload but nothing that would hold an ounce of shot
