Picked up some AP '06 Yesterday

Picked this stuff up yesterday, Along with some tracers that aren't in the nicest shape, All of it looks to be made in 1944. One headstamp is Denver Ordnance Plant and the other is St Louis. probably do a little fun testing with it.

Nice, looks identical to some 30 cal projectiles I loaded into 308. They were still able to punch through 3/8” AR500.

Alot of these will likely get loaded into 308, I don't actually have a 30'06 Which is wild, Also some might make it into my buddies 300 RUM, really see what these can do!

Picked up another 60 rounds today from the same gentleman. Paid $80, they aren't in as nice shape, bit I think I'll pull these ones, tumble the bullets, and load em into 308, maybe re paint the tips?

Many years ago, I had a couple hundred of the AP 30-06 rounds, and perhaps 30 tracers.
I was amazed at how much mild steel those APs would penetrate. They had a fairly thick
jacket with a smaller diameter, very hard, steel core.
A few of the tracers were "duds" Those that worked were pretty impressive, though.
