Picked up about 60 rounds of tracers at a gun show for my 7.62x39 and 54r. I paid a fortune for these, so it will take a very special event for me to try these out somewhere away from dry grass and tinder of course.

I have shot some of the same x39 tracers, they glow red. They are hard to see in day light and need at least 100 yards to light up and then some distance to target to be seen. So if you plan to shoot them make sure its darker area and distance to target is 300 yards or more. That's my advise
Never seen x54 like that, is the case brass?
Got any more pic of x54 headstamp?

I scored 100 rounds and paid 2.50 per round for 7.62x39 a while ago from a private seller outside a gun store hahaha have not shot any yet. Took one apart just to make sure I was not ripped off.

Nice to know that ^^ I was imagining that tracer lit up right away and burned bright - just like in that Brad Pitt movie "Fury" where the tracer can
be seen both coming and going ;)

It does seem to be brass. I don't know why that is. The two packets I bought were the ones that were perfectly wrapped in the paper and tied with string, as if it just came out of a spam can for the 54r. I paid 2.5$ per for the 39 and 5$ for the 54r.

...friend started a rancher's pasture on fire. Didn't know what he had. New SKS and a spam can full of ammo (all tracers). Pot shooting into a pile of junk (with permission) and the whole place went up! South of Calgary...10 years ago.
