Picked up TAVOR 21 from Williams ARMS

Your hand guard gets hot? That's weird man. I notice my rail gets hot, being clamped directly to the barrel, but I've never had a problem with the hand guard.

In fact, I've even looked at my Tavor through a thermal camera after some extensive shooting, and seen how the barrel gets white hot while most of the chassis stays cool. Not much heat transfers from the rail to the optic either.

I might just be a pansy. But I do notice it gets damned hot. The optic is okay. I think I was running it pretty hard. 5 LAR mags in a row a few times just cause.

Well did you read your manual? :p

The Israeli's warn not to burn through more than eight 30round mags on full auto in immediate succession.

Maybe that's your problem!

I'll check mine the next time I'm out. But I've never noticed my hand guard heat at all.

I was well below that. My full auto wasn't working with my full 30 round mags anyways ;)

I have a Tavor from the last lots Can Am brought in. I went through a lot of ammo with it when I went up North for a buddies wedding. The barrel was very hot but no issues at all with heat on the guards or grips. The Tavor eye even disapeared after 30 rounds.

The CZ 858 also got a workout. Both worked great.
