PICs from my trip to Russia in oct .

Thank you for sharing.
But
Why the heck did the Russians deactivate Zaitzev's sniper?
I could be wrong here but I though Zaitsev was running a PE sniper at the battle of Stalingrad?

Would the real Zaitsev Rifle be locked away and a dewat one put in it's place for safety and in case of theft?

Every single weapon at the Volgagrad WW2 museum was deactivated even the heavy artillery pieces ... Gives you a good idea how paranoid the commies were ..

Did you go on a tour? Or just fly there, rent a car/taxi and do your own thing?

It sounds like Russia is about the same as parts of Italy(from my experience) and from your description below! Mama-Mia!

and most of the population really seem hate foreigners in their country especially Americans but when they find out your Canadian they are more friendly .. but i realized after a while they dont smile much and were rude even to eachother, just how they are there

I flew into Moscow from Amsterdam stayed for a few days then flew to Sochi the southern most city in Russia on the black sea , very tropical place +30 in oct! stayed for 10 days then took a bus to Krasnodar a 8 hour drive . From there we took a 17 hour train ride through endless plains to Volgagrad, the countryside outside Volgagrad looks just like the the Foothills and prairies outside of Calgary . Never took any tours because they are a rip off , my uncle knows a bit of Russian and we just took taxis to all the sites . 5 days later we flew back to Moscow then back home ..
