Pics of magnum mauser?

Anyone own a true magnum mauser?

Can you post some pics?

I have a zkk602 but wants to see how a real magnum size (long action) mauser action looks like.

Thx
This pic is from the book " The Commercial Mauser 98 Sporting Rifle" by Lester Womack. There isn't a lot of difference between a standard Mauser and an Oberndorf magnum action. The magnum is 3/8" longer, the magazine box and rails will be different; the bolt is the same diameter but the face will be cut for whichever cartridge the action was intended for. Some early actions lacked the square bridge. The first magnums were built for the John Rigby co. for their 400/.350 cartridge, and had a slanted mag box to accomodate the rimmed cartridge. The bolt face was also significantly different on those actions. The solid side wall was a late production feature. The double square bridge on the bottom action is rare.

The Brevex mauser built in France on German tooling was slightly longer if I recall correctly.

Most of the magnum actions were swallowed up by the British gun trade, though some were imported into America by Stoegers.

True magnum actions from Mauser Werke are scarce. They made short(kurz), intermediate, standard and magnum. The Kurz actions are even harder to find.
True. Used to be a few gunsmiths that would cut two 98 sized actions and make one kurz and one magnum out of the parts. Lot of work, but I've seen some that were amazingly well done. - dan

What is the bronze coloured pin/bolt through the wrist? Normally strengthening that area of the stock would involve a pin up through the grip from the grip cap. Is it a repair?

Apparently even Rigby's doesn't know why that was done, only that it wasn't done by them. It looks old, so my best guess is that somebody thought they needed to reinforce the grip.
