SIR...funny, that's where I just scored my P38... I hate giving them my business and thier milsurp stuff is usually limited to refurbed mosins and bubba's junk, but once in a while...

Anyway, I LOVE your collection. Can I marry it? ok, how about just the .45?
 
I like your Carcano M 91/38 Short Rifle. You may want to consider picking up a bayonet lug to really dress her up ;)

Very nice collection Nyles. Question about your P14: Gather the stock is actually from an M1917(P17),.30-06 rifle. Canada did receive some 1917's for Homeguard,RCAF and other units prior to WWII. As you know, all P14's originally had volley sights on leftside stock, although most were removed during re-fit.
If your P14 barrel/action has a C-broad arrow mark however, I'd really like to see a pic and definetly stand corrected.
 
Ollie, I know exactly how you feel. I lucked out with the .45, and because of that I do occasionally check back. That said, I do hate their customer service (or lack thereof) and shop at Wholesale whenever possible.

Longbranch, you are quite right that it is an M1917 stock, however I'm given to understand that these stocks were commonly fitted during wartime, and Canada did receive some (not as many as M1917s) P14s. I suppose there's no way I can prove beyond a shadow of a doubt that it's original, but I think it is.

naugler, to be honest the M91/38 is really one of the lesser guns in my collection. I think it's actually an aborted sporterisation project, the finnish looks to have been steel wooled off, and as you say its missing the bayonet lug. The cocking piece is also REALLY loose, and it actually once uncocked on me while I was putting the safety on. I'm somewhat leery of firing it, I may just sell it and get a better one.

Monty, yeah, the RIC Carbine is definately my favorite. It was my holy grail, I'm still amazed I lucked into it.

Not so much lucky as started at the right time. When I was in high school with a part-time job and no real financial responsibilities, C-68 was just coming into full force (yeah, I'm quite young) and alot of people were unloading their collection, so even SIR had lots of milsurps.

Well, except for the RIC... and the Mosin P-27.... and the Colt.... those were lucky.
 
There will be an RIC at the Paris gun auction on the 25th of March. I am helping a gentleman prepare his collection for auction and there is one in there. I tried to get him to let me offer a few of them up on here, but he wants to send them all to auction. Can't blame a guy for wanting to get top dollar for his stuff.
