The only stainless wood combo i ever liked was a Winchester classic that someone sold here in
.270 it looked sharp.

You had to remind me didn't you - that hurts. :( That gun is accurate as well...:bangHead:

The Williams sights are the same ones I put on my Dad's GG. I showed him a picture of your paint job as well...he was polite as well, and said he would prefer to stay with the wood finish.;)

So, that gun is looking good Mark, you had better smack a bear with it this Spring - you need some pictures of it "in the element".;) :D

.

James, i forgot that was your Win70. I was at work when i saw it online. I don't think it lasted the day on the board??

I am going to the range today to dial in the sights and the scope. I am hoping the sights adjust properly with the load i am using elevation wise.

................i have seen better figure in a 2x4

Exactly why I made the poor lad at wholesale show me all 6 they had in stock before I chose the one I have now. Mine has very very purty wood, ill try and throw some pics up.

Speaking of which... was there any particularly remarkable thread on 45-70 loads? I;m working my way through books worth of stuff on the board, but maybe there is one famous thread with all the loading, and casting info a bro could want from bears to cape buffalo...

What could be more tacky than a scope on a guide gun?:p

How about a big ol butt-stock shell holder, a large "John Wayne" type lever loop, and finished off with a spiderweb tan stock.  The only thing missing from this rifle is a "tactical" pistol grip and a flashlight mount ...........

Wild West Guns has some very nice goodies but seeing them all together at the same time on the same rifle is a bit much. ;)

I am hoping to tackle a bear with it and its going to be my carry rig while stream fishing in the Cadomin, Robb area this spring.
I have to still dial it in. Today is my Friday so i have a few days to play with it.

I think you need one of these Mark, to help pull you away from that tactical look ;) :D
