I have no problem bastardizing anything. The war is over. The rifles left in their original form are all but useless. I will go on the record for saying that too. Were not playing GI Joe. We are hunters and sportsmen. I see no need in running around the bush with a 2x4 that weighs more than it has to. If sporting rifles were meant to have full wood, they would have come that way. We use sporting rifles the way they were meant to be used. A hundred years ago, custom rifles were being built on the Enfields, 03's and such. They were being turned into sporting rifles. There is two sides to this coin. You have the snobs who are too good for using an Enfield. They have a $1000 rifle and $700 scope. And they can shoot a deer dead at 3000 yards if they wanted to. Then you have the people who look at the war relics and think they should stay just the way they are. Anyone who chops the wood on their gun is an a$$hole. Newsflash. People can do whatever they want to their own property. I have a sporterized Lee Enfield. I'm not ashamed, and I would have done it if it had all it's furniture on it. Even if your rifle wasn't done by someone else, you should still have been proud. You have a beautiful hunting rifle there. Use it, and appoligize to nobody.

Yes they are. :)

To you maybe... to others, myself included, the history of these firearms means more than the dollar so...No they are not.

1945 Jungle carbine that is my favorite carry gun and one of most prized possessions.

I have a sporterized enfield..... I thought every singe "sportsman" worth his salt had AT LEAST one!

It's not a sporterized enfield if at some point in its history someone hasn't "bubba'd" it in some way or form.....

I agree with Pharaoh 2!

Cheers!

Nice rifle XC. I've got quite a few rifles of different makes, qualities and values. There is something about a well done Enfield sporter that makes me wax nostalgic..

My name is James, and I also own a Bubba'd SMLE...I was ashamed to admit it all these years but thanks to PH2B'sA (pharoah2s bubba's anonymous) I have the courage to say it. *tear*
