Bought mine from an ad in the Buy&Sell back in the 90's.

Never owned one but i fired it on the range in the 80s (G3), i found the recoil distinct from my FN , the delayed roller i guess. Anyone else find these have their own unique recoil impulse? I can also remember a bunch of G3s being sold in the Gunrunner in the mid 80s for around 399.00. Does anyone remember this or their details?

Yes, I clearly remember this, those where great days... I believe International Firearms brought them in because they were the first to advertise them and shortly after they started popping up in alot of gunshops. That was about the time I picked up a Ishaphore FN FAL for $100 from International...

Prices I remember from that era, $400 MG 34 and 42's as well as CA Uzi's...

You need to fire one on full auto, It's alot of fun. 20 rds OF 7.62 NATO with one pull of the trigger....

Actually, I always found the opposite. The people who had shot HKs least had the highest opinion of them. People who had never shot one, loved them. People who had shot them lots were often tired of the weight and the neck-snapping, filling-rattling recoil.

Bought mine off the rack in a gun store for $499.00 back in maybe '91 but thats so long ago I could be off. Dam I miss my G3.

My brother used to hunt with his 91, very heavy. The one I had I equipped with the 1200 meter HK sight and the HK heavy bi pod. To me the FAL and M14 are much more ergonomic, and more fun to shoot.

I bought an HK91 in 97 or 98 before the next round of legislation came in. I was not alowed to keep it. A shame really it would have looked good next to my FAL. The big joke is I can buy a G3.

I never got tired of shooting the HK91, and YES I did shoot it lots. I think the look cool factor blinded me from anything else The weight though, YES, it was heavy but not as cumbersome as you'd think to carry around the bush, about the same feel as my now sold shorty M14.
