...drove to Dlask Arms yesterday and picked up a 14" barrel for my 870.. I can tell you that their service was top notch and Jo was helpful and professional, they even re-registered my shotgun with new barrel on premises right after my purchase!
So now I am sitting here admiring my new barrel, broke as hell and imagining I have a Surefire fore-end. If anyone has a 14" 870 or Norc clone with a Surefire please post a pic. for me! I would love to see your setup...and dream ;)

Thx. guys,
Mad Mikey.

...Absolutely a thing of beauty skullboy, the paint scheme is great!.
The light seems to have exactly the placement I hoped for. Any powder residue get on the light after firing?. Is the paint you used Armacoat?

Thx,
Mad Mikey :shotgun:

No residue so far.

Not Arma-Coat.

I used Krylon & Testors Military Model Paint with a Matte Clearcoat over top.Holds up pretty good.I have done MANY firearms with krylon and have had no issues.

If I was to re-do it, I would use Gun-Kote.

Okay, here is my Rem 870 with AGW rail and stock adaptor system. Brought it to the range yesterday to sight in the Eotech...clover leaf at 60 meters. (target prior to sighting-in)

That setup looks awfully familiar - Just waiting on a buffer tube, barrel, eotech, buis set, and wilson combat extension; so as you can tell, I'm almost there. :D I don't really care for the Ergo forend, though. Mike keeps on loosening. May go with a Surefire, but that'll be a while, yet.

I also have a Magpul CTR with rubber butt plate and it looks great on yours! How's recoil with that setup?

I'm sure most people have names for their firearms, but naming specific parts is taking it too far.

Thanks for the kind words guys. This set-up is based on a lot of suggestions from this Forum, so my thanks go out to all of you for helping me put this config together.

C441:

The recoil is extremely manageable. I love the CTR stock. It is rock solid and you can ge a very comfortable cheek weld. It is a little louder than your standard length barrel, but nothing crazy. Slug grouping at 60+ meters are excellent!

I know what you mean with the ERGO forend. I had the same problem with the loosening locking ring, but I added a little "Blue Loctitie" and voila, problem solved!

Mildot:

LOL! Darrin, I knew you'd spot that Strider AR. The opther knife is an Emerson drop point SOCFK. Both knives belong to my son. Your AR should be hitting your mail box very soon! The other accessory items: CF issued Gerber Multi-tool, Surefire Defender.

Since this pic was taken i've added a Badger Ordinance picatinny rail and an Eotech .

...looks great ATR. In fact that is my exact current set-up. Only difference is I have a 4 round side saddle. Thanks for the pic. Did you find the surefire changed the balance much, front heavy or is it a relatively light piece?.

nice, I have the same setup, but I have a Speedfeed straight stock, without pistol grip. Havent added the sites yet.

USP , i have the Speedfeed straight stock also and when i'm hiking the Surefire forend isn't on and neither is the pistolgrip stock . The Badger Ordinance picatinny rail is on with 3 , 8 x 40 screws and sits low enough that when i take the Eotech off i can still use the Scattergun Tech sights . The front sight centers in the ghost ring just above the picatinny so although i don't get a full sight picture , it works well . The muzzle is threaded and i use Briley , flush fit , steel rated choke tubes . I have 3 chokes but after quite a bit of testing i only use the full choke . With it , from a benchrest the gun will put 5 - 3 inch mag Brenneke slugs into a 5 inch group to the point of aim at 100 yards and i'm happy with that . This gun is my bear medicine .
