Well boys and girls. Just thought I would throw a few pics up from last spring. Just to get you in the mood for next week's opening.These are bears that were all taken within a few weeks of one another by myself or friends

Sorry to all in Ontario with no spring bear season;)

5ft 8 with the hide on and a good 350lb live weight give or take. (hard to tell in that dip it layed in but he was a pig)

Bear was 7ft 5 nose to tail. Hide off. Heads above the rest is doing the rug so we had no skull measurement on my post last year
Skull now scored and is 21 3/16ths

19 7/8th skull, 7'1" nose to tail. taken by a client of mine from New York. we thought the skull would go at least 21 with that pumpkin head, but mostly meat

I wish i could go bear hunting!!!

this guy that lives up by my huntcamp thinks that the bears are following all the female moose in the spring waiting for them to give birth ,then they snatch the baby soon as it hits the ground


moose numbers are going down quite a bit in northern ontario and scientists think its heat stress...i think its a combo of heat stress and BEARS
 
beauty bear Amphip. Mine was a meat head to. I thought for sure it would go B&C. Just like Demonicals bear last year
 
Wow! Great pics guys. Keep em coming. I'm one of the Ontario guy's so I only get to dream about Spring bear, but hope to get my first bear this coming Fall.

Nice bears there guys..

I saw my first bear of 2007 yesterday. He was crossing the pt alice rd about 300 yards away. He was a big'n. :D He filled up most of a lane for sure. I got out of the truck and cut through to a hydro r/w that he was heading for hoping to get a better look but he must have beat me to it. The skunk cabage is out, but not much grass yet. The first good warm days should bring them out in droves any time now.
 
Very fat. 2nd week of April and he had about 2 1/2 inches of fat everywhere under his hide. Great shape and just large. We estimated his weight at about 430lbs or so. I bought a scale for this year just in case we get a big one. Would really like to see if my weight estimates on game are in the ballpark or not
 
Last springs bear for me. I took it with a 338/08 so that was kinda of neat. I don't know how big it was because I didn't really check but it made lots of peperoni and sausages:D
